SELF DISCOVERY PROGRAMS

Self-Discovery is an outcome of mastering challenges, overcoming the limitations students have set upon themselves and expanding to newer dimensions.

The Self – Confidence that is gained by experience can be applied to all walks of life.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM IS TO

  • Connect Individuals to nature through experience

  • Develop a sense of belonging

  • Explore innate latent resources like insight, creativity, intuition, visualization and imagination

  • Bond deeply with themselves, each other and the natural world

  • Harmonize their body, mind, spirit and

  • Most importantly to cultivate a passion for life.

Physical exertion can be an outlet for:

  • Suppressed anxiety, fear and frustration.

  • It allows an introvert to open up and an extrovert to look within.

  • It allows them to explore their weaknesses – making room for others' vulnerability and

  • Exploring strength – seeing the potential in others.

.

HOW DO WE PURSUE IT

Expose them to carefully planned and guided outdoor activities like: hiking, cycling, rock climbing, wildlife photography, rafting and connect them to powerful emotions like

  • Awe – of the natural world

  • Fear – of exploring unknown and failure

  • Doubt – of one’s ability

  • Anxiety – of the outcome

  • Confidence – by stretching their limitations and

  • Screaming - in joy after completing a challenging task .

  • Inquire into the thought process and reflect on what they experienced before, during and after the experience and share their emotions and experiences with the group to explore and reflect on similar/different perspectives of one experience

CONNECTION

True learning can happen only in periods of silence and solitude. Students will spend time in silence and use different mediums like visualization, poetry and non – verbal mediums like drawing to express and explore their experiences

  • Inquire into the thought processes and reflect on what they have experienced.

  • Explore their learnings from the  before-after experience

  • What they would like to unlearn and

  • Share their emotions with the group to explore and reflect on similar/different perspectives of ones own experience.

REFLECTION

Actively engage students in drawing meaningful conclusions of their experiences, discuss individually and express what they learnt and how they would like to apply their present learning in day-to-day living
